Two-tier busing for students is postponed Two-tier busing for Tunkhannock Area School District students has been postponed until at least the 1987-88 school year, Dr. Roger A. Place, superintendent announced. At the board meeting, Place announced, a consultant hired by the district to study its busing system, recommended two-tier busing as a cost saving measure. A proposal for converting the system was to be presented to the board last year but the plan was not completed in time.

The board approved a $1,036,000 bond issue to cover the cost of re-roofing sections of the high and middle schools and Rosland building. The board had agreed to accept bids to float the 10-year bond. The district will save approximately $45,000 by floating the bond with the state School Building Authority. Wyoming Area Program arranged Women's Association of First Presbyterian Church of West Pittston, will sponsor "An Evening With Frank Tuesday at 7:30. He is producer and anchor man of "Newswatch 16." Meeting Is announced Wyoming Area Football Parents Association will meet Tuesday night at 8 at the West Pittston Borough Building.

Parade aides will meet Wyoming-West Wyoming Memorial Day parade committee will meet Saturday afternoon at 2: 30 at the VFW Post 396, Wyoming. The Dallas United Methodist Church announces the following events for the week of May 4: Sunday, 9:15, church school, 10:30, worship service; Monday, 7:30, handbell practice. Tuesday, 7:30, United Methodist Women bridal tea in the social hall, fashion show of wedding gowns old and new will be presented; Wednesday, 6:30, children's choir, 7:30, adult choir; Saturday, trustees host a "Clean-up, Fix-up, Paint-up members of the church are requested to come at 9 a.m. Intermediate school band concert listed Seventy five members of the Dallas Intermediate School Band will present a public concert on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school all-purpose room.

The program includes selections by the fifth and sixth grade bands, ensembles, and a combined finale. Trumpet soloist with the sixth grade will be Emily Russin, and Holly Bolesta will play a French Horn solo. The public is invited to join with parents and friends for this concert, without charge. Conductor will be instrumental music instructor, Reese E. Pelton.

Ncaovor 9 "IS 1 A Dinner and polka dance slated Senior takes part in All-State Band Festival Steven Fidyk, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fidyk of Askam, a senior at Hanover Area High School, is participating in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Band Festival. It is hosted by Shaler Area High School, Pittsburgh, Wednesday through Saturday. A member of the HA Band and Jazz Band, he has been awarded prizes for Jazz Band Drum solos.

He also represented the school in District 9 and Region IV Bands at Tunkhannock and Dallas. Time of service changed The Lyndwood Community Congregational Church has changed the time of the service to 10 a. m. beginning May 4. This will be for the summer months.

Swoyersville Hose Com pany 2 will hold its annual spaghetti dinner and polka dance Saturday at the hose company social hall, Swoyersville. Dinner will be served from 5 to 8 with takeouts available from 4 to 5. Following dinner, a polka dance will be held from 8:30 to 1 with music provided by Joe Lastovica and Polka Punch. Tickets will be available at the door. In wrestling tcurnay Charles Jacoby, son of Nathan and Barbara Jacoby of Valley View Trailer Park, Dallas, will compete in the AAU regional wrestling competition at Souderton, N.J.

He'll be looking to advance to Richmond, and to the finals in Indiana. He has picked up 174 wins in three years of wrestling. Some 91 of them came this season. Charles has been first in 13 tournaments, second in nine and third in five others. The youngster, who took a first in the Hughesville freestyle event and another first at Blooms-burg University, was second in the AAU districts and fourth in the regionals.

Jacoby, 11, attends wrestling camp at Bloomsburg each year and this summer will have as his instructors Ricky and Rocky Bonomo, standout grapplers at Bloomsburg University.
